The band bleached is an alternative rock group from California whose members are two women. Their music is in general seems very upbeat. Both the song Electric Chair and No Friend of Mine have a peppy upbeat rock rhythm with thrashy vocal lines that are not pure but also not screaming. The lyrics defy the mood set by the music of the piece. While the music is carefree in nature the lyrics hit on topics like loneliness, death, and anger. It certainly is an interesting contrast.
Another band I stumbled on while searching is Pomplamoose and their song Bust Your Knee Caps. The video is definitely worth watching and it has a more interesting contrast between lyric material and music. The music is set to a fifties style rock that has a bit of a doo-wop feel. The song is about a woman and her family with mob ties. It is really funny in an off sort of way. There is a part in the video where the singer smiles and it takes me aback due to the nature of the lyrics of the song. I would highly recommend watching/listening to this one.
