Hang up

Something that frustrates...
Me?
My ability to procrastinate,
Ironically I'm typing this late,
Like I must capitulate,
To laziness without abate,
As if it's beyond me,
To recall the date,
Of assignments due,
It could be misconstrued,
That it's the work I hate,
Or worse the teacher;
Thoughts of "Fuck that dude."
So let's get things straight,
I must prove,
To me, not you,
That I can concentrate,
Cause after all it's MY grade,
That I have to lose.

- Sometimes Things Happen For a Reason -

So I was reading CNN News and came across an interesting article....

An obese actor volunteered to a photo shoot that paid $500.  So the actor signs a waiver for alteration and distribution. He later finds his photo on an ad for diabetes awareness. One of the actors legs was photo-chopped, to represent the loss of limb, a common horror associated with diabetics. After the actor saw his photo he cried and was upset about the use of his photo, how it would effect his acting career. The actor then said that he would lower his acting fees to seek revenge professionally by seeking to advertise for a soda company.

First of all, if the actor didn't want his pictures altered then he should have not have signed the waiver. Secondly, since this ad hits so close to home for him, maybe he should heed the message and think about the BIG PICTURE... Diabetes is a huge issue in the U.S. Many people die every year and dude doesn't look far from being a statistic if he doesn't change his lifestyle. Even if that ad just changes one persons lifestyle to take better care of themselves, the ad has done its job and that's worth more than one crybaby so-called actor (who still has both legs) and $500. If the actor would just change his attitude about the ad to supporting it he wouldn't have to worry about his acting career.  I believe people would thank him for the shoot, especially those whose limbs were lost due to diabetes, who want to make people aware, and wish their issue was somebody photo-chopping there leg.
Is it a sign.... I thinks so.
The fact that he's pissed about this is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most Annoying

Now I'm not the smartest person in the world and I'm still learning so much about so many things.  However the one thing that annoys me is when people try to talk about cars when they don't know enough about the topic.  Yes, its true I am a car bore.  The type of person that if you sat next to at dinner and you ask me my favorite car I will go on for hours answering your simple question.   For instance the only material I really read are from very credible car reviews.  Now its not the car reviews from from America (Car and Drive) that are so edited I feel like puking whenever I read it.  I read the articles from Europe like Top Gear and Auto Car.  The reviews are written by people who truly love cars not by some guy who just drives up and down the street and then spends two paragraphs talking about the cup holders.  So when I start talking cars and someone is trying to interrupt me telling me I'm wrong on my statistics it truly is what I hate most.  When someone starts to tell me I'm wrong I have a sudden urge to attach them to a milling machine and see if I can make a perfect cube out of their head.  Ok, I take that back I would cube their heads I would much rather just set them on fire with diesel.  I say diesel because that is the devils fuel so setting someone on fire with it sounds appropriate. So my rant is done but on an end note I will say this: If cars are causing global warming please everyone drive more cars, its -50 outside for god sakes.

Frustrations

What bothers me the most right now are all the ignorant college kids.  Most college kids have no idea what’s going on around them, and the ones that think they do are even worst off.  Most don’t even know who is running for election right now or who our current speaker of the house is.  Then you have the group of people who think they are making a difference with all their protesting, but they are protesting the wrong things.  College kids go out protesting just to protest sometimes.  Most don’t even understand the occupy Wall Street movement or realize it is just a bunch of lazy people whining that they don’t have what they want.  Then you have the movement to try and get rid of sweet shops in other countries, but what they don’t realize is those “sweet shops” are the easier and higher paying jobs in most countries.  They go there because they want to.  The thing that scares me about this the most is this is Americas next generation and they can already vote.  Sometimes I just feel like we are doomed.

so annoying to me ...

Something that really creeps me out is when people get way too close behind me when I’m at the ATM , paying with my debit card at the store or when I’m at the clinic signing in for an appointment . It’s like people think the closer they get behind one another in line, the faster the process of ‘waiting in line’ will go ?!
I just don’t understand how people can’t want to exercise the courtesy of giving each other some space, so everyone's private business can stay private.  '.C’mon people, common sense - just give people some room.

My Concern

My concern is with the education system of high schools in the United States.  In Chicago they are trying to pass a state law that states that schools will be open an extra 90 minutes.  Now for me I do not have a problem with them extending the days.  My problem is that they thing that this is the only thing that they need to do to make our education system better.  For me the school boards need to look more into how the teachers are teaching and if they have what they need to be able to teach the students.  The fact is that you can extend the day but the question really is "are the students really learning anything with this extra 90 minutes?"  This country really needs to look and think about giving the education system to the government to regulate it.

Why?

One thing that really bothers me is how horrendously judgemental people can be. I realise that it is human nature to be inclined in this way and that I myself can be found to be too judgemental at times. Most often I find that it is ignorance that spurs my own judgemental behavior and I aim to correct these things as soon as I am enlightened. I just wish people would think more about their words and actions and I also wish that what other people think would not dictate what I do as much.
I try to not let little things bother me and believe that we are all human and I am not perfect. However, one thing that really bothers me is when non-Native people complain about Natives getting free health care. There are people who do not receive the benefits that we [Natives] do and think it is unfair and stupid. I am not saying every non-Native person feels this way but trust me, there are more that do than don’t. What I think is unfair, is when the white man came to our land, they tried to take over and govern it. I think we deserve a lot more than free health care for what we’ve been through and what we’ve been forced to give up.

my concern..

my concern is for the younger generation. as i see it now, including my nieces and nephews, facebook, iphone/ipod apps, and all of these social networking are taking over their minds. i mean sure we live in alaska and its pretty cold out, but there are indoor gyms or other indoor recreations that can give them a place to play sports or be active.

Self-Entitled Whining

In America we have a lot of advantages that you wouldn’t get elsewhere. For example, if one is willing to put forth a little effort there is no concern of starving. There are a lot of people on this Earth who don’t have the same luxury. This is why the Occupy Movement bothers me. Yes, they may be part of the 1% in America. On the global scale, however, they are the 1%. In essence, this means that every individual in the Occupy Movement is a self-entitled hypocrite. Quit your whining and do something useful to the world like making an AIDS vaccine.

Who Does That!?

Something at always gets me is the condition of the public restrooms here at the dorms. There's nothing more disgusting than walking into a stall and seeing the toilet fill to the rim with crap and toilet paper. This happens every day! If we can't at least find a way to get people to flush after themselves can't we at least hire somebody to clean them daily? i would be willing to pay for it and public restrooms are gross enough when they're clean.

Something that is frustrating to me is when students fall asleep in class, I mean we all pay for the class so we get out of it what we put in it but it is really distracting when you are sitting next to a person who falls asleep and starts snoring loudly, to a point where you cannot even hear the teacher talking. This is not only rude to the students near them but it is also rude to the teacher. I was in Econ class this past week and this kid fell asleep while we were doing an activity, and this kid sits in the front of the class room I mean the class is huge but it was still pretty noticeable, head leaned all the way back and you could tell he had been out for a while but I felt bad for the people that sat around him and for the teacher, cause the teacher probably feels just as frustrated as the students around him. If I were the teacher I would have said something to the student and probably made him leave because that’s not an appropriate thing to do while in class especially sitting that close to the teacher.

Excuse you

Something that is really frustrating is when people bump into you or hit you with their bags and don’t say anything. People bump into me all the time and just keep walking, especially when I go to the mall. The thing that bothers me the most is that you know that they know they hit you and still they say nothing. If I felt it, then they felt it. I don’t think it is that hard to say excuse me or sorry and it’s just polite.

Almost too frustrating for words...

People everywhere want to go out and have a good time.  The difference of those in Europe or the U.S. is the risks they are actually taking when doing so.  In Germany, when you are out with friends, it is easy to go to a bar, have a few drinks and walk home, take a streetcar, or the bus.
It is so frustrating that safety is so extremely costly here.  Not only is there barely any public transportation available in the U.S. (maybe some if you live in huge cities such as New York), but you also don’t have the right to walk home.  What is expected of those that cannot afford to take a cab?  They are going to drink regardless, but whether they walk or drive, if a cop stops them, they are going to jail.

Life can be Frustrating

As a mother, a wife and a student, I find that I consistently have to choose who to give my attention to. On this past Friday, I was frustrated because in route to English class the school nurse called for me to pick up my daughter from school. In situations like this do I choose to be a caring parent or a good student and keep my fingers crossed that my husband will get the message about my daughter being sick. I pick up my daughter and fall behind in class assignments or my daughter stays with strangers for an extra two hours. Frustrating!
Michelle

Thank You

I know I may be out of my mind, but what is the deal with people not saying thank you? Saying Thanks and your welcome is one of the basic common courtesy. It makes me just want to punch people out when I hold a door or go out of my way to be courteous and I don't get a THANK YOU!!!!! Everyday this happens it makes me want to be just as rude as the people around me, but I refuse to stoop to the rudeness level.

Take it to the man, MAN!

I think if our generation is going to stir any type of change, it needs to attack the government and our natural born/constitutional freedoms being stripped from us slowly. The most effective way to reach our audience of this generation is through our culture's music. Like Jay-Z, he stuck it to the corruptness in our enforcement and drew attention to it. Now, with how little this generation cares about politics and the events that go on now, to peak interest and stir a passion and change we need to speak to them on their level! MUSIC. This is my idea of a solution for helping our generation recognize the corruption, laziness, gluttony, and waste of our society.

This is so frustrating ...

To be able to pay all my bills and to pay for my college education I work full time. Full time status means 40 hours a week. Lately my job has been cutting all their associates’ hours, instead of 40 hours they have me at 18-23. That’s crap; I won’t be able to pay bills with that or even save up for college classes. The store is trying to save money by cutting full time and not paying benefits. By this the store is always short staffed and nothing is getting done efficiently. You think a company as large as this one would be able to keep their employees working.

Learn how to drive!!

Referring to this past week, I would say my biggest concern is the lack of knowledge drivers have when approaching a roundabout. I only say this because I was almost hit by a student, in a truck, who clearly doesn't understand the concept of a yield sign. Even though I was already in the roundabout, this driver decided to completely ignore the yield sign. He whipped right into the roundabout, heading straight for my car. My frustration was that after the crisis was avoided (because I SLAMMED on my breaks) he just gave me a friendly wave like, "Thanks for slowing down so I didn't hit you." Some people are so clueless sometimes...
